I graduated from Sikeston High School in 2001.  I went on to attend Southeast Missouri State University, where I graduated in 2006 with my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with an Emphasis in Language and Literature.  From there, I continued my education at SEMO and earned my Master’s Degree in 2009 in Reading.

This is my 14^th year teaching for Sikeston Public Schools.  This is my second year teaching 5^th grade at the 5^th and 6^th Grade Center.  I am teamed up with Miss Politte, and I teach ELA (English Language Arts) and Social Studies to our 2 classes.

Prior to teaching at the 5^th and 6^th Grade Center, I taught for 12 years at Matthews Elementary.  I taught 4^th, 1^st, and 2^nd grade during my time there.

When I’m not teaching, I spend most of my time watching my kids do what they love, which is softball and rodeo.  So I’m either at the softball field, a rodeo arena, or just in our backyard watching my daughter practice ball or my son ride one of our steers or mini bulls in our arena we have at our house.  Additionally, my family all loves to hunt and fish, so when we can, we like to head off to the deer woods and spend weekends camping and hunting.  Finally, I love to read and try to do that as often as I can, when I’m not busy with everything else! :)
