I was in the Class of 2000 at Cape Central High School. 

I attended SEMO University in Cape Girardeau for both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. 

I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood with a reading emphasis. 

I have attended several conferences and workshops in the area of PBIS which is about using positive behavior. I have also had training in the area of differentiated instruction. 

I have had the honor of teaching at Southeast Elementary for my entire teaching career. This is my 14^th year of teaching and every year I have been with second grade. I have always loved second grade and I consider it the best grade to teach!

I had a position as a Reading Teacher Assistant for a year in Cape before I joined the Sikeston R6 family. 

I have never been married. I do not have any children of my own, but my niece and nephew are considered my children. Plus, all of my students are considered my children so I am a mother of many. I used to have a dog named Indiana Jones, but currently I have no pets.
