I began my career with Sikeston Public Schools in 1998 as a Title I reading and math teacher’s assistant. In August 2000, I said hello to my first third grade class at Matthews Elementary. I continued teaching third grade until moving to Southeast Elementary in August of 2008 as the Assistant Principal. I was honored in August 2013 to begin the school year here at Southeast as head Principal.
I have been very happily married to Mr. Jordan since November 1998. We are the proud parents of two children, who we are also raising as Sikeston Bullodgs! In addition to our human children, we are also the very proud parents of two fur-babies. There is never a dull moment in the Jordan household, but we wouldn’t trade it for anything!
In my “spare” time, I love watching my kids play sports! Between the two of them, we get to watch softball, baseball, football, basketball and soccer….so cheering them on is basically all that I have time for outside of school.
This school has always been more of an extension of my family. When people ask me how many children I have, I always answer with the current enrollment number for that day. When you tell someone that you have 343 children, they tend to look at you a little funny, I honestly do consider each and every one of the Southeast students, MY children. Being an educator isn’t a “job”...it’s a life. I come to school every day with the desire to have a positive impact in the lives of over 300 children. There aren’t too many people that can say that they are living their dream and getting paid to do what they love. I honestly love what I “do” and cannot imagine my life without my Southeast students, families, faculty and staff.
Thank you so very much for allowing me the opportunity to be a part of your family!
